FINISHED: Boston Bruin blanket

Its finally done and I have no idea what to do with myself. hehe.  Ive had a few ups and downs with this blanket. Last friday I was just about finished with it. I was sewing on the last row of squares and I noticed one of the squares wasn't matching up. I have no idea how this happened. I unsewed the right side of the blanket and re sewed it . Better. I might of stretched a square too much. Oh well. its done! Now to get more black yarn to make a boarder to hide some of the imperfections  and make some numbers for my fave players. Since I started this blanket 2 of my faves have left the Bruins ( Thornton and Lucic ) but I think I will add them anyway. Here is a look at the blankets journey in case you missed it. I started this in Feb of this year. FINISHED! thanks to my wonderful fiance for helping me take this photo :)   Now can it be hockey season?! :)

YOP5 week 6: A few finishes ! YAY!

Getting back on ( to my ) schedule I made for August I made and finished the Pokemon Pokeball hat, Jack Skellington hat and most of the Snoopy Scarf!! I just need to crochet the house for the other end and make Snoopy's body.  I also sewed more of the Boston Bruins Blanket. I think I may be done with it this month. I have to make 2 big squares . I noticed that a few were too small. I have to sew the yellow to the black. i wanted to make sure everything matched up.  I accomplish alot when I put down that lily pond blanket..hehe   Ive also started my hubby to be's Shark blanket,....

YOP year 5? Seriously?

I can't believe it's year 5 already....... this is my 3rd year participating. The last few days have been productive for me .I made a schedule for the next few months so I stay on track. I STARTED and  FINISHED the Zero lovey that was part of my hook challenge. It will be given to my cousin Ryder ( I really like that name ) due in October. I played with the pictures a little in editing. Its something different. ****** I got on the C2C bandwagon and started a few of my own. It is so addicting!! I love this!  I ran out of yarn for this one........ so I started this one. ( full skein not pictured)  ****** Also, I "dusted off" the Boston Bruin Blanket squares and started sewing them together. Its a bit tricking as you can see.... Why do I punish myself.. hehe my full project list can be found here .

YOP 4 week 47

I AM DONE WITH THE SQUARES for the Boston Bruins Blanket!!!!!!!! It was fun making them but the project is coming to an end. I have to block them and sew them together. But that can wait a few months. The squares take up less room than the blanket would . Doesn't look like much does it?  I have 2 gallon size bags of the 2 in squares. you can see one of them on the bottom. The other bag separates the yellow.  Pretty!  I am glad I made the solid granny instead of the traditional.  Like I mentioned in a past post, I am going to make numbers to add to the blanket for my favorite players. I believe I will have enough room.  Hook Challenge update : I have a few projects to go. I have to stop switching out projects. I just want to be able to say I finished. Unlike last year and YOP5 I will be adding more .  I made this Remembrance Poppy a few days ago. I used an F hook. Ive been using that hook alot for the Lily Pond Blanket....

Yop4 : week 45

Only a few week to go and only a few projects to make!! I made more squares for the Bruins Blanket      All yellow are done and just a few 6 inch squares are left that make the B ( top pic)  My Ladybug flag is finished. I love how it turned out! I have to make another ladybug body to cover the sewing on the other side.  And while I have your attention.... Is anyone else making the  Lily Pond Blanket  ?  Block 2 Block 3.. so far.  I need to buy more skeins to complete block 1.

YOP4 week 38

I can't wait until for year 5... I have so many ideas for my hook challenge :) I will post more about that in a few weeks because I want the A year of projects ravelry group to join in too.  Now for my updates.... As I mentioned in my  WIP post  , I have been searching for a K hook size project that I loved. I finally found one! I was set on just making curtains for my porch but realizing I have 7 windows , I decided on something else.  I love this bag. Pattern is by  Jennette Reid  . My Boston Bruin blanket is coming out well... and fast. I'm almost done. I think after I make the rest of the yellow squares I will stop for a few months. Its starting to warm up here so I won't need it.  I made all these squares over the past few days.  4 more 6 rnd squares done. Now all 8 are done. All 38 2 rnd squares are finished. aw so cute.. 1 of 1 - four rnd square. I used one skein of yarn for all these squares ! no...

YOP week 36: More Squares

First I want to apologize for my yucky out side table. My porch has the best light. A few weeks ago I started my Boston Bruin Blanket. I had trouble deciding on either to make traditional granny squares or solid.   With help of a facebook group I love , I will be making the blanket with solid squares. They will use up a but more yarn but the blanket will be warmer. Here is my progress so far.... These are squares for the top of the blanket. I ran out of yellow so I started making black squares. This is the  chart  I am using .. I am using smaller squares because I don't need a big blanket. I plan to make numbers ( by  Moogly ) for my favorite team members. I think I can fill up all the big squares around the B. Yellow 2 rnd sq- ___of 38 made 4 rnd sq- ___of 1 made 6 rnd sq- 4 of 8 made 8 rnd sq- 2 of 14 made Black 2 rnd sq- 5 of 14 made 4 rnd sq- ___of 5 made 6 rnd sq- 4 of 12 made 8 rnd sq not needed
