YOP 4 week 48

Welcome to the last day of May. In 30 days YOP 5 will begin. Is your list ready? Probably not :) and that's ok. My year 5 list is gonna be crazy. Not just projects but I want to teach myself a few things on this journey. But there is a hook challenge I need to finish first. For my J hook I made a Big Ass Octopus ( pattern by Charlotte W .) I also used a g ( 4.5mm ) hook. This was the only pattern I liked ( and wanted to make) that wasn't a scarf, cowl, or basket. I also wanted to make another Amigurumi ( this makes 4 for YOP) . Her head is HUGE  :) but o so cute. I just need to finish the tentacles , add her eyes and sew her together.  For my N hook I wanted to make something other than a cowl, basket or scarf, Like the L .  I haven't used PLARN so this was a great challenge. I had a project queued up but once I started I didn't like it so I went the extremely easy route and made a granny square. I used small doggie poo bags. I bough...

YOP 4 week 47

I AM DONE WITH THE SQUARES for the Boston Bruins Blanket!!!!!!!! It was fun making them but the project is coming to an end. I have to block them and sew them together. But that can wait a few months. The squares take up less room than the blanket would . Doesn't look like much does it?  I have 2 gallon size bags of the 2 in squares. you can see one of them on the bottom. The other bag separates the yellow.  Pretty!  I am glad I made the solid granny instead of the traditional.  Like I mentioned in a past post, I am going to make numbers to add to the blanket for my favorite players. I believe I will have enough room.  Hook Challenge update : I have a few projects to go. I have to stop switching out projects. I just want to be able to say I finished. Unlike last year and YOP5 I will be adding more .  I made this Remembrance Poppy a few days ago. I used an F hook. Ive been using that hook alot for the Lily Pond Blanket....

YOP4 week 38

I can't wait until for year 5... I have so many ideas for my hook challenge :) I will post more about that in a few weeks because I want the A year of projects ravelry group to join in too.  Now for my updates.... As I mentioned in my  WIP post  , I have been searching for a K hook size project that I loved. I finally found one! I was set on just making curtains for my porch but realizing I have 7 windows , I decided on something else.  I love this bag. Pattern is by  Jennette Reid  . My Boston Bruin blanket is coming out well... and fast. I'm almost done. I think after I make the rest of the yellow squares I will stop for a few months. Its starting to warm up here so I won't need it.  I made all these squares over the past few days.  4 more 6 rnd squares done. Now all 8 are done. All 38 2 rnd squares are finished. aw so cute.. 1 of 1 - four rnd square. I used one skein of yarn for all these squares ! no...

WIP - YOP week 37

After months of looking for the right K hook project for my hook challenge, I finally found something. I found this pattern on ravelry .  Candy Apple Fall Cabled Baguette . I need a new bag badly so this perfect. I am using yarn from my stash. I've had it for about a year. Lion Brand Hometown U.S.A. in Minneapolis Purple. There only a few rows to go.  I will be stitching to black for the trim and handle.

YOP week 27: Remember me?

Week 27. holy heck! I wish I had 27 weeks of progress pictures but the Mario Blanket and orders took up most of my time.  These hats are part of the 52 Hat Challenge on Ravelry and A year of Projects. Since I have more time now I can get back to my list(s). I have many more hats on my list to make for my etsy shop. It needs more hats. Hats are the most popular item in my shop so that is all I make. everything else just sits there.  Along with adding more hats I am redesigning a few of the hats I already sell. Mainly the Anna and Elsa hats, Police Box, and Giraffe hats. I will be adding other animals, sets ( hat and booties combo for babies) , plain ol hats and all hats will be available in all sizes . I recently made the Lego hat available in all sizes and it is growing in popularity in my shop.  I have more ideas but I will save that for another blog.  for an updated list of my YOP projects , check out my  previous post  .

YOP: week ???

I'm baaaaaack! I have alot of catching up to do! I took some time off of my Yop list to do some Halloween Hat making. Busy Busy! Now back to my list.. oh how I've missed you... Christmas is just around the corner so I HAVE to finish my fiance's present!!!!! I was able to get a few more rows of squares done.... one more to go.. all blue.  Then back to sewing! whooo.   This blanket is coming together nicely. I can still remember making the first few squares...   I was also able to get to the Breast Cancer Awareness bag. Cross this off my list of purchased pattern finished! :)

Year of Projects : week 5

Week 5 already? By week 5 I was hoping I'd have something finished. Sadly nothing is finished. I have to get back in my groove after making all those cheer hats. I do have to say that I am proud about something... I cleaned out my ravelry queue of all items I didn't plan on making anytime soon. It went from 5 pages to 3 pages!! :) ::happy dance:: This post I want to set some goals for next week: For the Mario Blanket ( my biggest project) I want to finish 25 more blue squares and 20 red squares. I believe after that I will have to buy more yarn. I want to start and finish the Stripped Chair Socks and start the Hexagon Hot pad . Or vice versa. :)

Year of Projects : week 4

I am adding the cheer hats to my list :) I have only worked on these and other orders in the past 2 weeks, so I wasn't able to do anything else on my list. I only took a picture of the changes to the hats. My future SIL will probably take pics later today.  For the  Mohawk  I changed the paw. Main reason is I forgot how I did the others..lol  The cheer board didn't like the other headbands so they asked for the style below.  I definitely like the others . HERE is the link to the other hats . I also made this headband but I didn't include it with the hats. I think THIS head band is much better. Hopefully Teresa ( future SIL) sees it on my page and asks me to make more :)  Yay! those are done! Now to finish orders and get back to my Year of Projects official list :)

Year of Projects3: week 3

this week was a sad week. after volunteering to help out a friend with her consignment shop, she decided to close the shop :(  it's a cute shop with a good selection but the shop is in a bad location.not many other shops around to get business from. about 3 miles away there are 4 more consignment shops. Anyway... from week 2 i started a baby princess crown as part of my crochet hook challenge using a size E hook. the picture below shows the same pattern, same hook but different size yarn so I have different size crown. the pink one is a baby size. the aqua one fits me. The scarf below isnt on my list of projects... I just wanted to show it off :) I made it for a raffle  . week one week two my year of projects list
