Mermaid CAL

Have I ever told you how much I love Ravelry  ? One place that has amazing patterns, amazing people and amazing groups. One group I am particularly fond of is Crochet & Amigurumi, swap one .  I have participated in a few swaps so far. And received wonderful amigurumis . For June and July Sarah ( LittlePandCompany) asked who wanted to make Mermaids with her. I love mermaids so I said I was in. For June I am making Camilia   .Samantha, another member of the group is making an Ariel inspired mermaid using this pattern. I have her head done and will be finishing the rest over the next couple of days. I haven't decided what I should do with her hair. This is my first doll ami. For July, I am joining Sarah in making Mermaid Houseguest  . I ordered her eyes last week so I should have them soon.  More updates soon.

Lily Pond Update #1

I am so glad I found this CAL. I like piecing things together, ie blankets. I enjoy sewing and watching the blanket come together. When I made the Mario blanket last year I was so excited when I sewed the the top half of Mario because I could see his face ! It was the first time I put something that big together. I liked it so much I started a Boston Bruins blanket in March. I am all done with the squares I just need to sew them. I am in no rush though. Now on to the Lily Pond Afghan. I started with blocks 2 and 3. I needed to buy more yarn to make block 1. And now block 4. Block 2 Flowers for block 3 Block 3 all done. I'm not using StyleCraft yarn. I wanted to use my stash. And my stash is mostly Red Heart.  Colors I am using are,  Peacock in place of Teal Paddy Green in place of Olive Spring green in place of Fern Aruba Sea in place of Mint Turquoise in place of Aqua White in place of Cream Lemon on place of Daffodil Da...

YOP week 36: More Squares

First I want to apologize for my yucky out side table. My porch has the best light. A few weeks ago I started my Boston Bruin Blanket. I had trouble deciding on either to make traditional granny squares or solid.   With help of a facebook group I love , I will be making the blanket with solid squares. They will use up a but more yarn but the blanket will be warmer. Here is my progress so far.... These are squares for the top of the blanket. I ran out of yellow so I started making black squares. This is the  chart  I am using .. I am using smaller squares because I don't need a big blanket. I plan to make numbers ( by  Moogly ) for my favorite team members. I think I can fill up all the big squares around the B. Yellow 2 rnd sq- ___of 38 made 4 rnd sq- ___of 1 made 6 rnd sq- 4 of 8 made 8 rnd sq- 2 of 14 made Black 2 rnd sq- 5 of 14 made 4 rnd sq- ___of 5 made 6 rnd sq- 4 of 12 made 8 rnd sq not needed

Yop4: week 32

There aren't that many weeks left for YOP ( a year of projects ) . My list has been edited a few times and I also have a 15 in 2015 list ( not part of YOP) . That list if for the patterns I bought last year. I figured its time to make a dent in the list.  Last week I started a project for my hook challenge...  With Hope Scarf  . This is one of the projects I added since I didn't like the other project any more. I used a J Hook and Dark Orchid yarn by Red Heart.  Some how I missed 2 arches. The pattern called for 21 and I make 19. I have no idea how I did that. But it worked out well. Its not too short.  The pattern is easy and fun.  crochet hook made by PukaPeyDesigns on facebook!

WIP- Minion Hat

I caved... after receiving about 4 emails saying I should make minion hats , I have decided to give it a shot. my own pattern. I am not following someones elses . here is a link to the updated post

Mystery Mitt: Second clue

how did everyone do with the first clue? it should look like this.. I chained 32 which measures about 7 inches. this is where it might get a little tricky for the newbies. but if I can do it... so can you. the special stitches are not hard. I found few videos on youtube to help you out if you are a visual person. The next few stitches will help you determine if you want to use a multi colored yarn or keep the solid. Special Stitches: Puff Stitch (pst) : ( yarn over, insert hook in next stitch to be worked, and draw up a loop to height of dc) 4 times; yo  and draw through all 9 loops on hook. pst made. find video HERE Front Post Double Crochet (FPdc): yo, insert hook from front to back to front around post of specified stitch and draw up a loop; (yo, and draw through 2 loops on the hook) twice. FPdc made. find video HERE follow my pattern not the video. I added the videos for the stitch. Pattern rows 1 and 2 can be found HERE . row 3: * Pst in next dc, FPdc ...

FGF:Mystery Mitt First Clue

Hey all... are we ready to get crocheting? :) As I mentioned in the ravelry group , you will need a size G hook and worsted weight yarn/10ply . you'll need less than 150 yards. Using a solid color will work best to see the special stitches, but its up to you.  this pattern has special stitches that I will walk you through, for you newbies. Don't be alarmed. They are very simple.    Now for the pattern...... ch.  multiples  of 2 ( to fit your wrist ) DO NOT JOIN. ( i chained 32) row 1: sc (single crochet) in the 2nd chain from hook. and in each remaining ch to end. chain 2(counts as dc for the following row.) turn. ( 31 sts) row 2: dc (double crochet) in each st (stitch) to end. chain 3. turn  (31 sts) next clue will be posted June 8th ................

I love custom orders!!!!

hint hint people!!!! :) I have this fb friend who loves my work :) she is my most valued customer :) she has more of my creations than my mom did. from jewelry to the knitted and croocheted things I make. This week I am working on a scarf for her son. This is the third scarf for him... second one this month :) I am not going to tell you what it is til I am done .. the other scarf was Beemo. A child's cartoon character. He's so cute and it was fun to make.  But after this week, I will need more orders. The reason I love custom orders is because its personalized. From the color to size  to the detail. Plus I am not a mind reader..lol  The scarf above was $20. With someone else it could of been more.  Supplies + time... I think $20 was reasonable :)  I dont over charge, there is no bogus charges and I keep shipping low as possible. I ship out a lot of stuff so I know what things cost. I use the post office envelopes/boxes which I ha...

Crochet Corner - Crocheted Headband

I didnt use a pattern.  All I did was make a chain that would fit my head and double crochet until it was the width I wanted. Then on my small peach loom I made a flower.  This is my second  finished  crochet item. the other was the Star Stitch Headband .  My next project is awareness ribbon headbands ( made 2 ribbons so far) and tiny towels and I plan on crocheting some jewelry as well. But I am still a loom knitter at heart :)  I will loom big projects. Crocheting a scarf will take too long and hurt my hands ......   I hope you like the headband. It was fun to make.   If you have any questions , please comment below.  and as always.....
