Halloween orders are done!!!

Now to get back to my Year of Projects list. My hooks and yarn decided not to continue without me. what a bummer! I didn't break my 99 hats record from last year but I did ok. Came close. Cabbage Patch kid hats are still most popular, followed by Edith hats from Despicable Me and a few Lego hats. I added anger from Inside Out but limited them to just 10. Sold out in about 3 weeks.  :)  I am kinda sad that not one Minion was ordered. I don't get Christmas orders so I have next to nothing to do. I have Jon's shark blanket to remake now since I have enough skeins of the same dye lot. There are scarves for the homeless to be made and a few scarves or headbands I want to make for Maine's Special Olympics, the only New England state asking for items. I sit here debating whether or not to make a few Halloween items I had on my list. One that sticks out is the Wicked Tutu bag by Heidi Yates. I bought it, might as well make it, hehe . It would make a great bag for Jon a...

Big Milestone !

I love how Etsy keeps track of my sales. I realized this week that I have made over 200 Cabbage Patch Kid hats in the past few years. WOW! It seems like more, When I first made them ( Aug. 2013) I didn't think I would ever make 200. I guess alot of people what their little girl ( and themselves - I've made a few adult size hats too) to look like those adorable dolls. :) I think the most popular color has been dark brown followed by maybe blonde or light brown. I recently got an order for a cream colored hat/wig. Most popular size: 18-14 months . I want to give a BIG thank you to all the people who helped me get here. Here is to 200 + more !!

YOP5 weeks 9,10, and 11

I FINISHED the Boston Bruin blanket!!!! You can see that post here . No need to post about it again. :) I learned a new stitch! Reverse single crochet / crab stitch. I love it. A big thanks to Moogly! My zombie sock monkey hat will be so cute once I finished it. The crab stitch is the red row after the white row. Also I finished the Rainbow scarf. I want to add pockets.  On my down time I've been making hearts to scatter for the Peyton Heart project.  .  I added a few more rows to my fiance's c2c blanket, but didn't take a picture of it .  The Halloween rush is starting. That's why barely anything is accomplished and I am doing 3 weeks in one post. Hopefully I can get in some time to make some Halloween decorations. I have a few patterns on my Hook Challenge list I want to make.  P.s . Please post your blog so I can comment back :)

FINISHED: Boston Bruin blanket

Its finally done and I have no idea what to do with myself. hehe.  Ive had a few ups and downs with this blanket. Last friday I was just about finished with it. I was sewing on the last row of squares and I noticed one of the squares wasn't matching up. I have no idea how this happened. I unsewed the right side of the blanket and re sewed it . Better. I might of stretched a square too much. Oh well. its done! Now to get more black yarn to make a boarder to hide some of the imperfections  and make some numbers for my fave players. Since I started this blanket 2 of my faves have left the Bruins ( Thornton and Lucic ) but I think I will add them anyway. Here is a look at the blankets journey in case you missed it. I started this in Feb of this year. FINISHED! thanks to my wonderful fiance for helping me take this photo :)   Now can it be hockey season?! :)

YOP5 week 8

As I sit here thinking about this weeks post I realize I should've added more larger projects. I look at my list every few days , and even with a schedule , I don't want to make anything. :( I don't really like making scarves but I am on my second one. And I have another 2-3 on my list.  This week I added an item. I added a C2C ( corner to corner ) blanket of Monkey D. Luffy from my fiance's favorite anime One Piece. It won't be all that big, just enough for Jon to keep warm in the colder months while he plays his video games, Its a bit cold in this corner.  The shark blanket had to be restarted due to it being two different colors. I picked up some Lion Brand Hometown USA in Dallas gray thinking that's the color I had the most of... Nope. So the search continues, I don't know why the label was not on the other 2 skeins. But I don't think it will take me long to make once I get the 7-9 skeins I need.  I am so glad that I am almost do...

YOP 5 week 7: happy sunday

This may be one of my last updates for a few months. It's Halloween hat making season so I will be busy with orders. Yay! I really love making part of some one's Halloween costume. Last year I made 99 hats within 2  months. I still have to add a few items to my shop . For a better selection. In other news I think I will be finishing up the Boston Bruins blanket today. I have the bottom of the B to sew. It is actually under my kindle right now as I write this post. This is the back side.  When ever I sit down to sew this blanket I ask myself why I torture myself so much. Because I love the Boston Bruins , thats why :)  Well thats my update for the week. I hope I will have more next week. This past week I had a few orders to make so nothing else was made. Last year after making  so many hats for customers I took too much time off and ignored my yop list. This year i refuse to get lazy :)

YOP5 week 6: A few finishes ! YAY!

Getting back on ( to my ) schedule I made for August I made and finished the Pokemon Pokeball hat, Jack Skellington hat and most of the Snoopy Scarf!! I just need to crochet the house for the other end and make Snoopy's body.  I also sewed more of the Boston Bruins Blanket. I think I may be done with it this month. I have to make 2 big squares . I noticed that a few were too small. I have to sew the yellow to the black. i wanted to make sure everything matched up.  I accomplish alot when I put down that lily pond blanket..hehe   Ive also started my hubby to be's Shark blanket,....
